Sherlock's pov is a daunting thing to think about. Authors seem to write him in many different ways in our fandom, some of which resonate and some of which tend towards the ridiculous. John is our natural narrator in this universe, not only because that's how the universe was created, but because Sherlock is a mystery wrapped in an enigma buried under a conundrum. I like how your fic gives us those little clues to the mystery, but doesn't reveal too much. Like John, we're always a bit in the dark, and we like it!
But then of course, some of the best fics are Sherlock's pov. There is something delicious, almost taboo, about getting a peak inside Sherlock's head.
And now I'm running out of metaphors, so I'll stop. :)
